What would be the BEST present for Christmas?

The very best present for Christmas is open for debate: really, think about it, everyone has their special “thing” they really want. As a grandparent, I have noticed a new escalated interest in gifts by my two oldest grandsons (4 and 2 years old) they are getting into the “present” i.e. gift thing. Just the other day the four year old said in a matter of fact way, “PaPa, I have a big present for you!” Whereas he was expecting me to respond the same but I was drifting in to some other thought-world peace; solving the world’s hunger problem; helping the missionaries or something like that. He repeated his statement, a little more forcefully, “PaPa, I have a b-i-g present for you, do you have one for me?” I got it, he really was baiting me to see if I would divulge and then give him one of the Christmas gifts my wife and I have purchased for him. I appeased his interest with my dad’s hunting glasses and his little brother got a chocolate edible coin (shaped in the image of a silver dollar). The pressure was off me and they were satisfied for the moment. Now the attention is turned to you, yes you. What is it that you are looking for under the Christmas Tree (I know I am not politically correct according to Rhode Island Governor who calls it a Holiday Tree). May I suggest to you that best ever gift of Christmas was the very first One? John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” so you see Jesus Christ was the very first gift of Christmas. Jesus gave Himself, to the world to please His Father for the sin debt to be paid. Have a Merry Christmas, and if I may help you have the first, BEST gift ever, salvation in Christ, contact me. Here is a message I am preaching this Sunday on the Christmas Gift:
