The goal of the church for adults is to help them be equipped to please the Lord. To become a strong disciple of Christ is accomplished through the Holy Spirit of God working through the Word of God, prayer, preaching of the Word, application of Biblical counsel and fellowship.

Consider some of the opportunities available through the Community Baptist Church to develop adults into strong servants of the Lord that are looking to please Him:

Prayer

Adults are encouraged to develop a faithful prayer life. Opportunities for prayer are established in the services of the church on Wednesdays, special seasons of prayer in church services, a prayer meeting is scheduled for adults to meet and pray together, a transportation/bus workers prayer meeting is held every Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.; there are prayer chains developed before our evangelistic and revival meetings are held.

Bible Studies

There is a great thirst for knowledge in the world today and the wisdom of God is the only thing that will satisfy. Community Baptist Church has on going Bible studies for adults in different formats to meet the needs and follow the great commission of teaching men to “observe all things whatsoever I commanded you.” The Wednesday evening service is designed to promote Bible study through taking on difficult topics and encouraging each adult to research the Scriptures.  On Sunday mornings there are classes for adults with Christian Education instruction. Discipleship classes are offered with one on one counselors taking the Word of God and learning the Bible truths through seventeen lessons.

Fellowship

Fellowship around the Word of God is irreplaceable and enjoyable. Adult activities are scheduled throughout the year for the adults that include Bible teaching and opportunities for wholesome fun. We have enjoyed: The Ladies Night Out-a time for ladies to grow together with a Bible devotion, foster new friendships, organize or work on a craft together, enjoy some delicious food and build their faith; bowling; a treasure hunt; adult banquets; cook-out; volleyball games; canoe trips and a mission trip is being planned.

Reformers Unanimous is a Christ centered addictions program. We first talk to God. We do that in two ways. First we talk to God in prayer. Each student is given an opportunity to share a need or request for God. We then talk to God in prayer over those requests. The requests are typed out and presented to the students to be prayed over through the week. We then talk to God in testimonies. Reformers Unanimous gives students an opportunity to share how God has changed their lives. Our visitors love to hear stories of recovery through God’s miraculous, saving grace. We hear of days, weeks, months, and years of victory and give awards for each.
