Psalms 116:15

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Tim and I have prayed that the Lord will return in the clouds and take us home to heaven together before my cancer ends my life.  We look at the clouds and say “is that the one Jesus will come on” and I will lift up a bit and say, “Even so, Jesus Come”.  When we sing, “Love Lifted Me”,  our church congregation lifts up on our toes in anticipation of the day we all go to heaven.  We should not fear to go to heaven!

One of my favorite hymns is “The Wonder of it All”

There’s the wonder of sunset at evening

The wonder of sunrise I see

But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul

Is the wonder that God Loves Me!

Sunsets and sunrises have always intrigued me.  I stare at them, paint them, and hope to see Jesus in them!

But more amazing is the fact that God, the Creator, and Savior loves me! He loves me!  He wants me with Him!  He sacrificed himself for me, He has prepared a place for me and He knows exactly when He will call me home.

But we love this earth, and it’s people, and pleasures so much that we forget our first love.  We forget our original destination without God and become content to just exist here on earth.  God has a better place and a closer relationship He wants to share with us.  Precious in His Sight is our earthly death, to begin this new Heavenly Life where we will never be separated.

Do we want to be with the Lord, is He precious in your life?

2 Corinthians 5:8

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

We read about Heaven, in all of its glory,

The story is true, John was able to see.

Its shining perfection, in every direction,

Down some golden street, there’s a place just for me.

This verse has been my challenge since my diagnosis.  Confident in the Lord and willing in my Spirit to be happy content, and peaceful to go to Heaven.  Confident and Willing grows from a close association with the Lord and His Word, Home and Plan for your life.  A Bible Study about Heaven will be so comforting and interesting and will help you let lose the earthly ties and strengthen your confidence in your eternal home.  All of my life I have enjoyed the view in front of me.  Looking out a window, gazing at clouds, a mountaintop, a rippling creek, a spring scene, fall colors or a diamond snowfall have brought joy to my eyes.  Our Alaska cruise gave us a room with a view veranda and lead me to this song about the greatest view in Heaven.

Chorus

I’ll have a room with a view; The sights I will see there

The saints of all ages, they will kneel at His feet

Around the throne, but in my new home when I look out the window I’ll see the face of my King

Just one look will do to prove it’s a room, a room with a view

2nd Verse

There’s only one reason why I’ll have a home there

I’ll go there because Jesus died for my sin

And though I’m not worthy and so undeserving

because of God’s grace He will welcome me in

Chorus

I’ll have a room with a view;

The saints of all ages, they will kneel at His feet

Around the throne, but in my new home when I look out the window

I’ll see the face of my King

Just one look will do to prove it’s a room, a room with a view

The best room with a view will be my home in heaven looking at Jesus face to face.  All my former vistas will fade in comparison to seeing and worshipping my Savior.

1 Peter 3:15

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

Do you have a confident hope in your heavenly home?  Are you ready to give an answer to those needing hope.  I have been praying and studying so that I can be a witness to others that we do not need to fear dying and Heaven.  But Satan has a terrible pull on us when it comes to death, he has persuaded the world that dying and meeting Jesus is a fearful thing. Christians must study our future home and confidently show others the hope and peace that comes from entering Heaven.

I am looking forward to my “Room with a View”.

Are you?

Thank you, Wendy, for your faith-filled sentiments about our soon-to-be-realized view of our Blessed Lord and Savior. They remind me of the inspiring words of the last verse of the hymn entitled The Sands of Time Are Sinking:

“The bride eyes not her garment,
    But her dear Bride-groom’s face;
I will not gaze on glory,
But on my King of grace,
Not at the crown He giveth, But on His pierced hand,
The Lamb is all the glory
    Of Immanuel’s Land.”

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Rev. 22:20).
