I propose that believers in the Lord should pray for the United States of America. The same God that led able men to break from the tyranny of England can be moved to help me break from the tyranny of apathy. The power of the Lord is more evident than ever before: A. the casual examination of nature knows that storms, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, global unrest is present; B. the student of human race will admit without much prodding that left to his natural ways of wrath mankind will self-destruct in wars, murders, abortions, (not to mention the deliberate extermination of races in the international places like Sudan, Israel, Uganda; as we sit idle wondering if we can afford another interaction in foreign affairs).

In History Today an article by Robert Hole: The American Declaration of Independence does three main things:

“1. It advances a theoretical case for revolution, discusses human rights and the nature of national sovereignty.
2. It sets out a precise list of the specific complaints which the American colonists had against the actions of the British government over the last decade and a half.
3. It declares the 13 British colonies on the east coast of North America independent on 4 July 1776. ”

The men who signed the Declaration of Independence did so on July 2 and then forwarded it to the other signers where they contracted a printer named Dunlop to print 200 copies to be distributed.

www.Archives.gov records in Declaration of Independence-A History: “Nations come into being in many ways. Military rebellion, civil strife, acts of heroism, acts of treachery, a thousand greater and lesser clashes between defenders of the old order and supporters of the new–all these occurrences and more have marked the emergences of new nations, large and small. The birth of our own nation included them all. That birth was unique, not only in the immensity of its later impact on the course of world history and the growth of democracy, but also because so many of the threads in our national history run back through time to come together in one place, in one time, and in one document: the Declaration of Independence.”

It is reported that there are 26 copies of the first printing by Dunlop (in various British and American museums and two private collectors).

With this rich history of turning away from tyranny there should be action, soul activity!
Every believer should pray:
1. The Savior Jesus Christ to be honored in our country
2. The Scriptures to be read and obeyed in our country
3. The sanctity of life be reinstated in our country
4. The souls of all men be saved in our country

Every believer should pray:
1. The Savior Jesus Christ to be honored in our country
God became man to allow the freedoms we hold dear
A. The Christians have become apathetic “we can’t change the world” they say, but God desires to change your world through His Holy Spirit power
B. The Church has imitated the world to become influential but we have lost the influence with the compromise of sin. Every believer should look to their life to see if it honors God.
C. The Christian community is tolerant of false doctrines. In the name of growth we have winked at doctrines that are heresy: worship of dead saints, baptism of the dead, acceptance of works for salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9

Every believer should pray
2. The Scriptures to be read and obeyed in our country
A. The Holy Scriptures are sacred but scarcely find time in our busy lives 2 Timothy 2:2, people need to learn the Word and it comes from believers alone.
B. The adhering of Scriptural truths of individuals, couples, and families is brief and powerless because we have neglected loving The Lord like the Ephesus Church.

3. The sanctity of life be reinstated in our country
Explained:
A. The unborn are being killed by our nation
“the phrase “sanctity of life” reflects the belief that because people are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26), human life has an inherently sacred attribute that should be protected and respected at all times. While God gave humanity the authority to kill and eat other forms of life (Genesis 9:3), the murdering of other human beings is expressly forbidden, with the penalty being death (Genesis 9:6).” -http://www.gotquestions.org/sanctity-of-life.html#ixzz36LNawUOD
B. The poor are being neglected by our nation
C. The elderly are being dismissed by our nation

Every believer should pray
4. The souls of all men be saved in our country
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
A. People are lost, you can only be found in The Lord-He is the Savior!
B. People are naturally filled with wrath.
Illustration: “It is not that we can’t do good. We do. It’s just that we can’t keep from doing bad. Romans 3:10, 23 .Some would disagree with such strong words. They look around and say. To everyone else on the decent person you know the pig might say something similar you might look at his trough partners in the notes I’m just as clean as everyone else compared to humans however that pig needs help. To God we humans need the same the standard for senselessness isn’t found at the pig troughs of the earth but at the throne of heaven. God himself is the standard.” Max Lucado, He did this for you.
